    Thematic Overview

The global green transition demands unprecedented capital mobilisation, industrial restructuring, and cross-border policy coordination. The EU has committed to climate neutrality by 2050, while India's long-term objective is net-zero by 2070, with an interim target of 500 GW of non-fossil electricity capacity by 2030. As both regions advance these ambitions, the question of how they can align their industrial and climate finance strategies becomes central to bilateral cooperation and global decarbonisation efforts.

From the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) to India's Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes for green hydrogen and solar manufacturing, both regions are deploying distinct yet potentially complementary approaches to financing and accelerating the green transition.
