APA Planning magazine article survey

Planning magazine is seeking information from planners regarding the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) guidance from July 2025 sent to state governors asking for their participation and compliance with the Trump administration’s SAFE ROADS initiative. In particular, USDOT was seeking removal of painted crosswalks (asphalt art) from roadways and rights-of-way.

We are asking for those who submit responses to provide their names and emails so we can verify that the responses are not automated, but we will only use the information provided if the respondent has indicated they are willing for their submission to be used on-the-record, anonymously, or as background.

This survey will be open through Friday, June 26, 2026.
