• New River Public Library Cooperative — Volunteer Application

    Please review the policies below and complete the application to volunteer at the library.
    1. Potential volunteers must complete an application form provided by the library.
    2. The library does not permit court-ordered community service hours.
    3. The dress code is business casual with closed-toe shoes.
    4. While on duty, volunteers are not permitted to use cell phones, earbuds, or socialize with personal acquaintances.
    5. A schedule will be arranged for each volunteer; all volunteers are expected to report on time.
    6. In case of illness or emergency, volunteers are expected to notify the library before their scheduled shift.
    7. Since the general public does not distinguish between library employees and volunteers, all volunteers are expected to be courteous and helpful to patrons at all times.
    8. Accuracy in shelving and handling materials is essential. If you are unsure about any item, please ask staff or leave it unshelved.
    9. Volunteers found in violation of any library policy will receive one warning. Any further violation will result in immediate dismissal.
