  • Important notes before you submit your application:

    Each trip costs $3,500 with the exception of Mozambique which is $8,500. There will be a $500 deposit required to secure your spot once selected and confirmed unless you qualify for a full scholarship. Full Scholarship for the Mozambique trip has a value of $3,500. The remaining balance of $5,000 would be the responsibility of the participant. OBIIS requires each attendee to purchase travel health insurance to cover emergency medical needs; this is approximately $30 - $60 per person. Also please check with the CDC regarding what vaccines are recommended. If you do not currently have a passport, please note that current processing time is 8-12 weeks. This application does not guarantee you a spot in the trips you select; we will let you know at least 60 days before trip departure if you have been selected.

  • Important Information about Barista Super Scholarship:

    The Bob and Michelle Fish Barista Super Scholarship is sponsored and funded by One BIGG Island in Space, LLC (OBIIS), a private company. Global Orange Development, LLC is not the source of scholarship funding. OBIIS and Global Orange Development, LLC are separate legal entities. As part of the Barista Super Scholarship, recipients receive a $500 travel preparation stipend. This stipend is intended to help participants prepare for their trip. It is not wages or compensation for services, does not replace earnings from your employer, and does not affect your hourly rate, tips, or other compensation. Participation in this scholarship program does not create an employment relationship with OBIIS or Global Orange Development, LLC. Your employer remains the franchise location where you are employed. Depending on your individual circumstances, scholarship funds, stipends, and reimbursements may be considered taxable income. Participants are responsible for any applicable tax obligations. If you have questions about your tax situation, we encourage you to consult a qualified tax advisor. Passport and vaccine reimbursements are available for confirmed participants and will be processed after valid receipts are submitted. Reimbursements are only available for participants who ultimately travel on the trip. By submitting this application, you certify that the information provided, including household income information, is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. Providing false or misleading information may result in disqualification from the program and repayment of any scholarship funds received.
