Although these may be called recommendations, they are really better termed as evaluations. You are asking for Rhodes HPA to collect letters for your application to medical school and associated programs and scholarships (PB, Special MS, Service Awards etc.) These will not become part of your permanent Rhodes Record and can only be used for the stated purpose.
The GW program requires three letters of evaluation. One must be from a Rhodes science professor. The second can be from any professor. Your third is best from a clinical supervisor. If you have questions, see Dr. Jaslow.
List the names of the people who have agreed to recommend you for admission to medical school, or agreed to write you an evaluation to be used for medical school application. It is your responsibility to obtain the consent of these recommenders before listing their names (but HPA will request their letters). It is always a good idea to supply these recommenders with information on your interests, experiences, and achievements. (See other documents re: seeking evaluations/recommendations)
Allow several weeks for the recommenders to prepare your evaluation. Like you, we are all very busy, and may already have a number of recommendations to write ahead of yours. A minimum time frame might be two weeks. Four to six weeks is better.
After you turn in the list of names below, Dr. Jaslow will send your recommenders a form to use in their evaluation. After getting the letters back from your evaluators, HPA will assemble them into a composite letter for the Medical schools.
Please include the correct title, phone number, address, and email of off-campus individuals. If an MD or DO, please provide their assistant’s name and contact information as well.
