  • Eligibility
    In order to serve the most veterans, we have the following eligibility requirements:

    • All participants must complete a VUB application to finalize enrollment.
    • Any veteran with an academic need that VUB services can address may be enrolled our academic refresher classes. Prior participants may enroll a second time if there is space in the class(es).

    When responding to the question below, “what is your total TAXABLE income for the last year” Please refer to the image below for guidance. 

    Line 15 on our tax return indicates your total taxable income.  This is calculated by subtracting line 11 (your adjusted gross income) from line 14 (your standard deduction or itemized deductions and adding your qualified business income deduction if applicable).

  • A felony under Montana State law is defined as a crime for which more than one year in prison may be imposed.

  • Suspension is defined as a sanction imposed for disciplinary reasons that result in a student leaving school for a fixed time period, less than permanently.  Dismissal from college for disciplinary reason is defined as permanently separated from an institution of higher education on the basis of conduct or behavior.

  • An affirmative response to any of these questions will not prevent admission to VUB, but any falsification or omission may result in dismissal from the program. A criminal history will not bar college admissions, but there is a process college applicants must follow to report it, and it may include an interview with a campus official. An applicant's college admission may be deferred or denied.
