2021 EducationUSA Scholars Program

APPLICATION FORM
The EducationUSA office at the Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy - Kigali, seeks to identify and recruit secondary school students who have been top 10 of their class or scored 75% and above in Senior 4, and Senior 5 to join the 2021 EducationUSA Scholars Program (ESP). Only students who are graduating high school in July 2021 are eligible to apply.

Our mission is to assist our Scholars in negotiating the admissions process in U.S. colleges and universities to better their academic futures, with the goal of producing highly skilled and widely-educated leaders to build tomorrow’s Rwanda.

The Education USA Program will work with students through an intensive boot camp in english foundations, standardised tests prep, and college counselling. The program will also include distance learning and virtual support depending on the health situation. The program will equip students with knowledge needed to apply and compete for admissions and financial aid from universities in the United States. We expect a sincere commitment from the students to give their energy and time to the program.

We do not limit the program geographically; however, students must be able to have somewhere to stay in Kigali during in-person boot camps. In addition to this, students must have some access to a computer to facilitate their distance learning and virtual support.

Application Components

Read the instructions carefully. It is essential that you submit all required documents listed below: Complete this application form fully, providing us with as much information as you can about yourself. We will not consider incomplete applications. A complete application consists of the below documents:
- A completed application form: This form DOES NOT save responses ! You must have all application materials ready before you start completing this form (application essays, responses to the short answer questions, contact information for your parents, contact information for former secondary school officials)
- Scanned copies of school reports or academic transcripts from Senior four, Senior five, and Senior six.
- Contact number and/or email of one reference person who can attest to your character, talent, skills, and community engagement.
ENTRANCE INTO THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION OR FINANCIAL AID TO STUDY IN THE U.S. CANDIDATES WHO COMPLETED SENIOR 6 IN 2019 AND YEARS PRIOR ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.
