• 2022 ABE Graduate Student Mentoring Award

    UF/IFAS Agricultural and Biological Engineering
  • Purpose:

    To recognize current or former graduate students for their effort in mentoring others.

    Eligibility:

    Applicants must be ABE graduate students.

    Awards will be given to students who engaged in a mentor-mentee relationship in any of the following categories:

    • Peer-to-peer mentoring of graduate students
    • Mentoring of undergraduate students
    • Mentoring in a K-12 classroom (working with K-12 students and/or teachers)

    When to Apply:

    Application opens August 1.

    Application materials are due by November 1. 

    Award Requirements:

    Submit completed application by deadline to include online application, current CV, Mentoring Philosophy (500 word maximum), and letter of support from advisor.

    • Please provide a 1-page (~500 words) description of your mentoring philosophy to include why you chose to be a mentor and a reflection on the impact of your efforts on the personal and professional development for you and your mentee(s).
