Since non-registered parents/ caregivers, tagalongs (brothers, sisters, friends), and other non-members are not covered by the basic coverage, additional insurance can be purchased for events or activities by completing this form at least two weeks before your activity/event.
Adults who participate in meetings and activities on a regular basis or otherwise have access to girls, their information, manage funds, or regularly volunteer in any capacity must register as a volunteer and complete a GSEMA Criminal Background Check.
Guest speakers are welcome to present when volunteer-to-girl ratios are otherwise satisfied by approved GSEMA volunteers, and special "bring a friend" recruitment meetings are encouraged for age-eligible participants. However, non-member insurance cannot be purchased on an on-going, recurring basis for regular troop meetings, but is rather intended for special family events, like a bridging ceremony when the additional attendees are audience members, for example.
Please consider your "customers" too-- yard sales, babysitting, etc.
Please note: non-member insurance is NOT available for overnight activities at all. All overnight participants must be a registered member of GSUSA, including all youth and all adults must be registered volunteer members of Girl Scouts with a current, eligible Criminal Background Check (CORI/SORI, plus an online national screening for those who have not lived in MA for the past 7 years).
