  • You are one step closer to becoming one of 2.5 million Americans who are certified in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), an evidence-based course that will teach you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders in real, actionable ways. You will:

    • Grow in your knowledge of signs, symptoms and risk factors of mental illnesses and addictions.
    • Identify multiple types of professional and self-help resources for individuals with a mental illness or addiction.
    • Increase your confidence in and likelihood to help an individual in distress.
    • Show increased mental wellness in yourself by just taking the training
    • Help to reduce negative attitudes and perceptions of individuals with mental illnesses.

  • Our project has been funded to teach MHFA for free to individuals who help, or belong to, the following communities:

    • Youth (12-21)
    • Older adults
    • Faith-based communities
    • Minorities
      • rural counties, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, people with emotional/behavioral disabilities, people with physical disabilities, people with developmental disabilities
    • First Responders
      • police officers, correctional officers, state troopers, park police, probation and parole officers, school resource officers, court bailiffs, career and volunteer fire fighters, EMT, and 911 dispatchers.
    • Certified Peer Recovery Supporters in the state of Ohio

    You will receive a calendar reminder andinformation regarding accessing your pre-work 2-weeks prior to your class date.

    In the two-weeks leading up to your class to class you will be intrudced through email to your instructors who will provide additional training information.
