  • Conference Presentation

    CEO Grants provide funding for students who are/were accepted to present (either oral or poster) at professional and/or academic discipline conferences.  Please provide estimates of your expenses that are close to the actual expenses anticipated based on research.   Awards typically do not exceed $500 total, but proposals can request more. 

    Individuals are encouraged to apply for a SRTG Grant to support conference presentations.

  • Conference Presentation Proposal

    Include:

    1. The EXACT title of your paper/poster presented (as well as the names of co-authors).
    2. The specific name of the organization as well as the specific name of the conference with a short description of the conference purpose.
    3. Location of the conference (conference center/hotel, city, state).
    4. Dates of the conference.

    Please answer:

    1. Describe WHY this conference attendance is important to YOU.
    2. What do you hope to gain from attending?
    3. What sessions will you attend?
    4. What networking will you do while you are there (meeting grad schools, professors, etc)?
    5. What you plan on doing with that experience after your return to New College?

    Please be sure to include ALL of the detailed information above pertaining to your area of the proposal.

  • Conference Budget

    The total costs for conference travel may be higher than what you will REQUEST from a CEO Grant.  Most conference grants average about $500.00 in award funding.  Applicants are expected to research and justify expected expenses.

  • Research Supplies / Materials Request

    CEO Grants are available to cover costs associated with independent research projects.  Grants can be used to cover the costs of supplies and materials, some minor equipment, and related expeneses.  In estimating of your expenses, you should be as close to actual expenses as you can be.  Research and document expected costs.  Awards are typically for approximately $100 or less. 

    Individuals requiring more substantial funding support should apply through SRTG.

    • How does this research/project relate to your overall AOC, academic and career trajectory?
    • What have you accomplished so far in this project?
    • How will this project lead to your future work and/or goals?

    Keep in mind: you are not writing for an expert audience. Jargon and technical details should be described in ways that an intelligent layperson can understand, but still with enough specificity that someone from your field would find your descriptions adequate.

  • Internship Travel / Housing Proposal

    A CEO Internship Travel or Housing Grant supports travel costs associated with an internship, including:

    • domestic travel,
    • ground transportation (i.e. Uber, Lyft, public transportation),
    • airfare,
    • temporary car rental (up to 5 days), and
    • fuel/gas for commutes 30 minutes or longer, or
    • housing related expenses.

    Please provide estimates of your expenses (we are not looking for "ballpark" figures - these should be close to the actual expenses anticipated based on research). The award amount is not expected to exceed $275 total, but proposals can request more. This grant is meant to supplement travel or housing expenses and may not cover all travel or housing expenses.

    Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and decisions regarding funding will be made within 1- 2 weeks from the date of application.  

    You will be notified via the email address on your application when a decision has been made.   

    1). I will return the completed acceptance, W-9, and thank you letter (if applicable) within 30 days of award notification.

    2) I understand that failure to respond and accept the award within 30 days of email notification may result in my grant being forfeited.   

    3). If applicable, I will provide a handwritten or typed thank you note to the donor or trustee of the funds prior to receiving the check. 

    3). I agree that the funds awarded will be used solely as proposed, and I will keep all travel and purchase receipts.  Original receipts must be submitted within 30 days of the end date of the proposed grant period to the Center of Career Engagement and Opportunity (CEO) in Library 154.

    4). I will provide a final project and expense summary report to the Career Engagement and Opportunity (CEO) Office within 30 days after presenting at the conference / completing the project / completing the internship.  Email: ceo@ncf.edu

    5). I will return any unspent funds and/or relinquish permanent equipment back to the associated division or library as appropriate.
