5) ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is $50 for VAA members and $60 for non-members - for up to 4 entries.

Artwork may be created from any media, in both 2-D and 3-D with the exception of video works. Work must not have been previously included in a VAA exhibit. A diptych or triptych is considered a single work. 2-D works must be suitably framed or edge-finished and not larger than 30" (including frame).
Drywall anchor bolts are not allowed. Only conventional picture hanging hooks will be allowed. Works must be framed and appropriately wired. Complete exhibition requirements and guidelines are available HERE.
7) SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Titles, media, dimensions and prices must be included on your entry form and cannot be changed after submission. Please keep description of media as brief as possible.
READ CLOSELY: Image filenames should be "Last Name, Entry #1, title.jpg", Last Name, Entry #2, title.jpg", etc.
Failure to name files in this way will result in disqualification without a refund.
For example: Jim Jones' first entry, entitled Starry Night, would look like the following (commas and all): Jones, Entry #1, Starry Night.jpg
There is a 5MB maximum on the size of an images file.
Notifications are done by phone call followed by email. Make sure the phone number and email address you enter are correct and messages from Exhibitions@VisualArtsAlliance.org do not go into your spam/junk box.
9) DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORKS
Hand deliver works to BLUEorange Gallery (1208 West Gray Street, Houston, TX 77019) on Sunday, February 25, from 9-10 am. Works not delivered by 10 am will not be included. All works must remain on view until the close of the exhibit - no exceptions. VAA reserves the right to reject any work that is misrepresented or unsuitably framed, wired, etc. Works requiring special hanging or installation must be done by the artist.
Out-of-town artists whose work is accepted will receive shipping instructions in their notification of acceptance. Shipped artworks must be packaged for re-shipping (NO POPCORN) and must be accompanied by a pre-paid, return shipping label.
10) PICK-UP OF ACCEPTED WORKS
Artists must pick up their work on Sunday, April 29, from 10 am - 11 pm. Work not claimed at that time will be discarded, as it is not property of VAA. Volunteers will pack work which was shipped from out-of-town and return ship to the artist.
BLUEorange Gallery will take a 30% commission on sales. Sales transactions will be made by BLUEorange Gallery. VAA does not require a commission on sales of this exhibition.
This juried exhibition is open to all artists aged 18 and over.
EVERY PRECAUTION WILL BE TAKEN IN HANDLING ARTWORK, HOWEVER, NEITHER VAA OR BLUEorange Gallery WILL ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE, LOSS OR THEFT DURING THE EXHIBITION, OR AS A RESULT OF SHIPMENT. VAA reserves the right to photograph work or use submitted images for publicity purposes. Entering this competition will constitute agreement with all conditions set forth within this prospectus. VAA is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization.
