How can I collect names and email addresses -and filter out those not wanting to subscribe

A table reservation form for a pub has fields for name (first and last), email address, and a tick box if people don't want to receive our newsletter. I want to 'harvest' these names and emails IF they leave the tick box unticked.  How do I filter out those not wishing to be involved?

Also, when I view the form submissions list, the first and last names have been joined into one single field, whereas I want to export them as separate, thus ending with an excel file which has three fields (first name, last name, email address) but to exclude those who ticked the 'anonanimity' tickbox.

Another small point on this form:  I want a simple tick box. The standard widget offers three 'Options' for this tick box. If you delete all text for these three options, the form ignores this and adds the three options and text back in. The only way I found to reduce it to ONE tickbox was to place a fullstop in the options text. But I am not sure it is working at all. How do I get to see if anyone ticked the box when viewing the form submissions?

    Hello tonycrowther,

If I understand your question correctly, you want to filter submissions based on the answer of some form field. Is that correct?

Unfortunately it is currently not possible to filer submissions. One way to achieve this is to download your form's submission data in excel and add filter on any column. The following guide should help you how to download your form's submission data in excel: https://www.jotform.com/help/44-How-to-Export-Form-Data-to-Excel

So, if someone ticks a tickbox, what data is inserted into that field, so that when exported to Excel, it can be used as a filter?

If someone ticks a checkbox and submits the form, the data you'd get on your Submission would be the selected option on the checkbox itself.

    e.g.

If you have a Checkbox with 3 options: Alpha | Bravo | Charlie

And a respondent ticked Bravo, then on the Submission Data, the checkbox filled will appear as Bravo too.

On the other hand, if someone ticked Alpha and Charlie, then the Submission will show Alpha and Charlie too.
