    Hi,

I have a charity paypal account and I'd like to create a paypal donation form integrated to the paypal account. I've tried all the settings and so far I don't see exactly what I'd like to do.

I have a few different charities so I want to list each one in the form and the user needs to select at least one of them and enter the amount for it. So far, I've been able to add each charity with an amount box but:

    1) I dont see where the submissions with the amounts go

    2) I don't want it to say "free" by each one

    3) The total does not update

This is what I have so far: https://www.jotform.us/form/63335173670152?preview=true

    thanks

You have setup your Paypal payment field to Sell Products, when your aim is to accept Donations.

To achieve what you're trying to do, you should use a couple of form fields + form calculation.

Here's my demo form https://www.jotform.com/63348316336962 and here are all the things I did:

    1. I changed your Paypal setting from SELL PRODUCTS to COLLECT DONATIONS

    2. I added 4 NUMBER FIELDS for each of your charities. This way, your users can enter their desired donation. I decided to use NUMBER FIELDS since you're asking for donations (in number format).

    3. Then I dragged the FORM CALCULATION widget to your form and set it up like this

You would notice that I only added all the 4 number fields to get the total. Then I passed that calculated total to your Paypal Payment field as highlighted on the very first screenshot of my reply (GET PRICE FROM > CALCULATION).

    RESULT:

If you want to clone my form so you could see how it was setup, here's how.

Thanks so much! I've cloned yours and it's here now:https://www.jotform.us/form/63354232937155?preview=true

Two more questions, where/how do I see which charities they selected? The whole idea is to get the breakdown not just the total.

Is there anyway to customize the button?

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

I have cloned your form and ran a test submission on it. Please note that when you submit the form and do not actually complete the transaction via PayPal it ends up as an "Incomplete Payment on" JotForm. Please see how it appears on the submissions page:

You can complete it manually by clicking on it. Please check the screenshot:

Now that I have completed the submission I am able to see the whole data. Please see how the charities appear:

I have opted to choose every one of them and entered different values for each. They all appeared in the submission as expected.

Your other question about customization will be answered here.

Please contact us again if you need any further assistance.

Thanks so much again. Can I ask one more...? :-)

How can I test an actual submission so I get the email notifications as well without having to make an actual transaction?

When you click the "Complete" submission in the "Incomplete Payment" list, that should trigger the email alerts of that specific submission.

Aside from that and doing an actual payment, another way to trigger the email notification is by setting the payment integration to Sandbox mode. Please note that you need to have a Paypal Sandbox account here, this would simulate a completed transaction and should trigger the email alerts. Here's a guide that might help: https://www.jotform.com/help/390-How-to-Test-Paypal-Payment-Form

Let us know if you have further questions :)

Ahh, thanks so much!! I see now, I had my email entered wrong which is why I didn't receive the previous submissions.

    Hi,

I've looked around and found a similar question from years ago so I'm asking it again in the hopes that things have changed.

Is there anyway to pass the jotform information to paypal so that users don't have to fill in the same info (name, address, etc..) twice?

As it stands, they fill out the jotform, click submit to login to paypal and then have to fill out the paypal form with the same info.

    Thanks

Since your most recent question is a new topic altogether, I moved it to a separate thread https://www.jotform.com/answers/1007219

We'll have it addressed there shortly.
