My form is not published yet, I am trying it out. When I pretend to be an applicant and I input data onto it and then save and come back later, only some of the data has been saved, not all of it.
Also, some of the updates I have done to the form have not been updated despite going back and checking that the actual changes are ok on the form setup, i.e. deleting any hovering text but it still appears, creating some rules that do not work, etc.

The updates are ok now but I still have the problem with the input data, it only saves some fields.
If an Applicant is filling the form and then suddenly something happens, I would like them to be able to go back to the form at any time and see the data that they have already input without them having to enter it again.

I have done all that already and the form is still not saved completely in the eye of the applicant.
Also, after submitting the application form I do not get a thank you message...

Have you tried already deleting your browsing cache and cookies? If not, please give a try. Also try using a different browser and see if it works out.
If the said issue still persist, let us know so we can further assist you.

After conducting extensive tests, I discovered that it is the captcha field in your form that's causing this issue. The captcha's script might be having a conflict with the script being used to save form sessions.
I have already submitted a ticket to our developers so this will be taken a look at, and subsequently rectified.
In the meantime, please remove the captcha in your form to make the form sessions (saving) work flawlessly.
