conditional logic

Asked on December 11, 2016 at 6:05 PM

I selected Entitled III, delegate; and picked Thursday night lodging in a dorm double occupancy for $39.50; and also added three meals, from Thursday project dinner, Friday breakfast and Honor's luncheon. The total is $84.50 for housing and meals. Since MSC pays up to $159.00, I would like to show $84.50 in the field of the amount paid by MSC, not the maximum amount $159.00. The conditional logic I entered did not work.

Please help. Thanks for your time and effort.

    Hello sisters7,

I am looking at your conditions but it is taking a bit of time. I will get back to you this soon.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

I wonder if you have found an answer to my question. Or if anyone else has an answer.

    Thanks for all your help.

The newest conditional logic I added create strange problems: the total of meals became a blank box, a double occupancy dorm rate got transferred to max $ paid by MSC. The 159.00 I originally input in max $ paid by MSC was gone.

    UPDATE / CALCULATE FIELD

    Hello,

I did check your form's condition and found that you have added multiple conditions to insert the value in "Max. $ paid by MSC" field.

Example: If  "Entitled III" is selected, you insert 159.00 in "Max. $ paid by MSC" field.

Again if "Thursday night lodging in a dorm double occupancy for $39.50" is selected, you calculate "39.5" in the "Total $" which is again populated in "Max. $ paid by MSC" field. This causes the calculation error you see in form. Please check the screenshot below:

I would suggest you to please let us know the calculation formula what you want to achieve in form and we will try to help you.

We will wait for your response.

    Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. What I want to do is simple, except I couldn't do it. All I want to do is simply add "if total $ is less than max.$ paid by MSC, then insert total $ into the field of max $ paid by MSC."

Hello, I see that there is a condition that inserts 159$ to amount paid by MSC field when Entitled III is selected:

conditional logic Image 1 Screenshot 40

You need to update this condition like:

conditional logic Image 2 Screenshot 51

And also you need to add a new condition to handle the values that are less than 159$:

conditional logic Image 3 Screenshot 62

I think this solves your problem. Here is my clone of your form. You can inspect it freely. Please follow this guide to clone my form:

Thanks. However this conditional logic created a new mistake.

I selected dorm double occupancy for June 1 & 2, housing total $79.00.

I selected all the 5 meals form Thursday project dinner to Sat. breakfast, meals total $80.00. The total of housing and meals is $159.00 which is the max $ paid by MSC. The balance due should be "0", yet it showed $151.00 as the max $ paid by MSC with a balance due of $8.00.

    Please help again.

Never mind my last post. I changed my condition from if "all" to if "any". Now it works. Thanks. Thank you to all of you who helped.

Seth's suggestions worked for Entitled II, III, IV & V. However this created a problem for Not Entitled.

For example if 'Not Entitled I' is filled and '2017 Convention Worker' is also filled. the amount paid by MSC should be $10.00 (pre-convention lunch, Thursday only). MSC does not paid lodging or other meals for 2017 convention worker.

Also, if 'Not Entitled I' is filled, and '2017 Convention Worker' is filled and 'I'm an Honoree' is filled; the amount paid by MSC should only be $25.00 (Pre-convention lunch, Thursday) and Honor's Lunch Friday. MSC does not pay lodging and other meals.

Right now the all these totals got carried to the field of max $ paid by MSC.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

I have tried checking the form and the conditions and see that there is no field 2017 Convention worker available in the form. Did you delete the field from the form? Or are you referring to the field "I'm a 2017 hostess worker"?

Please confirm so that we can check the conditions further.

We will wait for your response. Thank you!

Yes, that was what I meant, "I'm a 2017 hostess worker". Thanks.

I just realized that I have not entered C. logic for not entitled I. So please hold your answers. Let me get my side done first and if I have more question, I will post. I don't want you to waste your precious time on me. Thanks.
