    I have been looking at lots threads related to this and I just need some clarification. . . and help

    In most cases you use the "thank you" email to accomplish this task, this I understand.

    Perhaps my need my be meet using this option

    I have a form: 61013950784960, which is an application for a Dog-ID number. It creates a unique ID number for each submission;

    Dog-ID # {#hidden_31} which is at this moment AAC # 4001 which I was thinking of using for the Dog-ID #, and I want it to appear on fnew orm: 63494630537966 in field {#input_4} along with related data from corresponding fields, Name, Breed, Owner, etc...Then mail this to the applicant and copy the registrar. Is this possible?

    Or Do I create a "Thank you" form and design it to look like 63494630537966 using the field names of 61013950784960 to fill it out?

    Perhaps I've answered my own question.

    Hi Robert,

    I think both solutions will work.

    However, I find using a thank you form easier. So basically, you will have to pass the form data from one form (61013950784960) to another form (63494630537966) using prepopulation URL.

    We have a guide for that, here's how https://www.jotform.com/help/351-How-to-Automatically-Pass-Form-Data-to-Another-Form

    If we can be of further assistance, let us know.

    Hi,

    The Easier solution I understand...Although my two forms are not identical as long as I identify which field on form 1 goes into identified field on form 2, it should work.

    The more difficult I'm not sure of and would like to view a guide for that option please. I think I saw something about it but not sure.

    Thank you and seasons greetings :)

    Hello Robert,

    Apologies for the delayed response.

    Yes, that's what shown in the guide. Making the forms identical is not required for this function to work, as long as you've properly set the variable from form 1 to the target fields on form 2.

    Example:

    https://form.jotform.me/63488663267470?email={email}

    where

    email  is the email field name from the above form

    {email} is the email field variable from form 1

    It's basically the same way as prepopulating forms but with using the form variables where its values will be replaced when form 1 is submitted. This is also explained in the guide.

    I'm not sure if I am missing something here or if you need clarifications, just feel free to let us know. :)
