How can I change which answers appear in a bar graph?

I'm trying to create a report on one of my forms ( with a radio button question. I have this problem with several questions on this and other forms, but to be more concrete let me select a specific instance of the problem:

There are six answers to the question ("Received From:") as well as the 'other' option. I have over a hundred responses so far on the form and and the bar graph on the report ( takes 4 of the five answers and reports them as expected and then lumps all the remaining responses into an 'other' category. Unfortunately, the most common asnwer has been lumped into the 'other' category while one of the four categories that has been selected is not actually one of the radion button choices, but something someone typed into the 'other' choice ('Bill walked....').

So, is it possible to change which categories are not lumped into 'other'. Or better yet, can I increase the number of columns that are displayed?

As a general note, I find the reporting to be the least developed area of JotForms. Currently I have Google spreadsheets pulling data into to generate more graphs, but I would expect more out of the basic set of features. Like actually having different colors for the bar graphs if you are going to have a legend for it? Any tips you can give me on how to get more control of the reporting I would appreciate.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Unfortunately, there is no much customization available for our Visual Reports, they are hard coded. In other words you will have to follow available options.

As a workaround you can play with the Entry Limit parameter to increase the number of columns that are displayed. I have created the following Report for your form, and it seems to be more readable.

Please note that you can also remove the pre-defined Other option with input for your Received From Radio Button, and add a simple Other option like on the following screenshot. Then, add a separate Text Box Other field, and show that field when the Other Radio Button is selected (you can do this with conditions).

In that case you can receive a clean Chart without something like ('Bill walked....').

Please feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance.

Thank you for your reply. I did not understand what the entry limit meant in the graph setup, so that is helpful. I do still think though, that if you have an 'other' option on your question that you really just want to see 'other' in the graph list, not individual responses. I would mark that as something to fix in the future. The only other option is to always have exactly 1 of whatever someone types in unless they happen to type in exactly the same thing as someone else.

I am sorry to inform you, but I do not think that this issue with the individual other option in Visual Reports will be fixed soon. As a workaround you may replace it with a simple Other option.
