Widgets: Ability to limit the minimum or the maximum number of selections allowed on most selector widgets.Asked by loicsebe on December 20, 2016 at 01:09 AM
May we know what specific selector widgets you want to apply the minimum and maximum choices?
It would be quite hard to implement a feature when we generalize them. The widgets are special fields that have specific functions, so there are some features that can only be seen in the default fields. They are also designed or programmed differently.
One example is the default radio button, there's actually no minimum and maximum choices for them. The radio button was designed to have only one item to be selected.
There are also other widgets that have the maximum choice option, one example is the Checkbox in Dropdown widget.
We'll wait for your response.
I think that all widget that are designed to be a multiple selector should have the option to set a minimum or maximum. A "fancy" checkbox widget (like "Multiple Selection") should be able to perform the same as the basic checkbox field in my opinion because their purpose is the same.
I get your point about radio button, I thought they allowed multiple selections but I guess I did not check.
I understand that you would like the widgets that somehow function as a checkbox field to have the capability to limit the minimum or the maximum number of selections allowed.
I have collected all of the widgets that work similarly to a checkbox field but doesn't have "minimum" and "maximum" option to limit selections.
Then, below are the following widgets that have the ability to set the maximum selections but not the minimum selections.
I will be forwarding this to our development team as a feature request on your behalf.
If, in any case, I have missed any other widgets that you think would fit this request, please let us know so we may include it.
There is still a chance that the feature will not be added base on feasibility and I cannot guarantee that the feature will be available soon but once there is already an update, we will notify you in this thread the soonest.
