Automatic emailing and file upload

I need to create a field where the applicants for a fellowship put an email address, and I need to email that person requesting a latter of recommendation, with a particular format. I then would like the recipient to get a code or a way to upload their letter of recommendation and link it to the applicant form.

Is this possible ?

I think that's possible through edit URL of your applicant form.

In your applicant form, you can add an upload field where your users upload the recommendation letter. You can hide it if you want and reveal it only on edit mode.

Then in your autoresponder, add the edit URL variable {edit_link} with your instructions on how to upload the letter. So when users receive the email, they can click on the edit URL and it would open the applicant form with their existing data auto-filled and the upload field revealed where they need to upload the file. In this case, you don't need extra steps in linking the file to the form because the file itself is already uploaded on the same form.
