Using Random Value Generator

I am a Professor in a Commerce College, specialized in Finance & Accounting and IT. I am providing assignments to my students through my blog and accept the submissions using jotform.

I want that after my student downloaded an assignment, one email should be dropped in my mailbox assigning my student a unique identification number. I will assign this number in my class and then student will submit assignment after entering that unique code.

For this purpose, I have tried "Random Value Generator" add on from jorform, but now I want that when student will submit assignment, the assignment submission form should recognize the Random value which is generated previously at the time of downloading the assignment.

    Please help.

Thank you for providing clear details. If I understand your process correctly, using the EDIT Link method should work for it already.

    User guide: How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date

The edit link will allow the student to re-submit the same form they submitted previously.

Also, I am not sure if you know already, but form submission emails also have Submission ID#. This is also a unique identifier generated every time form is submitted.

    Ex:

Perhaps you can make use of the Submission ID# as well.

Hope this help. Let us know how we can be of further assistance.
