Is there a way to edit a field for use in an email?

Asked by uvtutoring on May 23, 2012 at 11:38 AM

I have created a form for requestiong online tutoring.  The tutor request field lists the tutors names and their cost category. For the generated email that goes out to the tutor I would like to be able to have a field that strips off the cost category and just returns the tutor name -- similar to how {fullname:first} strips off the first name in the fullname field.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew

There's no way that I know of to alter those tags to display just the names. I would suggest having just the names as the labels and using HTML titles to notify the user of each tutor's cost category along with an explanation of the particular category.

Unfortunately, there's no way to do this in the form builder. So, a copy of the form's full source (as opposed to just an iFrame, for instance) would have to obtained from the Embed Form Wizard and embedded into your web page and then the title attributes inserted into the appropriate tags. The tags classed as form-checkbox-item are those in which the title attributes should be placed. Would you like assistance with this?

Thanks,  I think I will probably just set up a different notificaiton for each tutor. I like being able to alter the form on your form builder and don't want to get into the full source at this point.

    Thanks again for your help,
