Turning off encryption

    Hi there,

I'm using the new Jotform setup and I want to turn off the encryption on my form but there isn't a Preferences section using the new system.

The encryption is causing issues with people I share with so for now, until I get time to look into it further I really need to turn the encryption off.

I can't go back to the old system as there is no option to do that.

    Can you help, please?

    Regards

Inside of Version 4 to turn off encryption select Settings option. Then inside of Form Settings tab click on Show More Option and scroll down until you find Encrypt Form Data option and set Encrypt Form Data option to No.

In case that you want to switch back to Version 3, you can do it on settings page of your account.

Hope this will help. Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hi BJoanna,
Thank you for your prompt replies.
You have been a big help and I appreciate your great customer service.
If I decide to encrypt my forms again in the future, how does our Director
(who is an email recipient) use the key which I forwarded on, to read the
    email submissions.

    Hi Ingrid,

    Let me clarify the issue.

First, when you reactivate the encryption option for your form, submissions and Notification Emails etc will be encrypted again.

For example, when you create an encrypted form, you download a key to your computer. When someone submit your form, you receive an encrypted submission and Notification Email, too. Please note that if you want to see the submission data in the submissions page or emails etc, you need the Private/Public Key.

If you add the email address of your Director to the recipient list in the Notification Email settings, he also receive the email about submissions. However, you need to send him the key that I mentioned above. On the other hand, he cannot see the decrypted version of the submissions.

Please note that if you lose the encryption key, you cannot see the submissions associated with this key. Please be careful about the  encryption key.

If you need any other details, please follow the guide: Encrypted-Forms-and-How-to-Use-Them

If you need any further assistance, please feel free to let us know.

    Thank you.
