How editing of the form affects the active sessions of my users?

We have  a couple of forms that use the session method outlined in https://www.jotform.com/help/97-How-to-Save-Forms-and-Continue-Later

If we make a change to a form (add/modify/delete a question), how will that affect current users that have unfinished (active sessions) forms?

Hello Casey, 

If you remove the field from the form that your users filled previously, they will just not see that field anymore, but rest of the form will be filled.

But, if you change the label of the field then that field will not be prefilled when they decide to continue with filling it.
