How can I stop the form from highlighting when I hover over it?

Hi, I am creating a form for a local sports competition. It has a black background with white font and white input boxes. However, when I move my mouse over the check boxes I have added, the area around the field highlights white and I can't see the options. How do I remove that highlighting?

It appears that you already figured it out by setting navigating to Preferences > Advanced > Higlight effect > disabled
