Manipulate data using standard spreadsheet

Please advise if can manipulate the report (spreadsheet) as suggested above beyond just choosing which fields to display.  Or can I for example reference a specific report (and the cells) from say a Dropbox spreadsheet in order to then manipulate?

We do not recommend to manipulate the integrated google sheet as this can break the integration with the form. If you want to manipulate the data, I would like to recommend  the ImportRange feature from google sheet.

You can use the ImportRange to copy the data of the Integrated Sheet into an entirely new spreadsheet. You can check out this guide on How To Import Data From Other Google Spreadsheets. By doing so, you will not need to modify the integrated sheet since you can modify the new spreadsheet instead.

    Thanks

I am aware of the ImportRange function, but with the Google Spreadsheets Integration problem at the moment this will not help anyway.

As far as manipulating the integrated sheet, when I have done this in the past, I leave the "Submissions" sheet intact and only reference the data to other sheets and manipulate there - I have never broken the integration when doing this.

As mentioned by my colleague, such changes on the sheet may cause the integration to fail. Perhaps the integration didn't fail for you yet as you were doing only simply edits, and not touching the sheet with submissions itself, but even changes saved to other sheets may cause the integration with a Google Spreadsheet to become broken.

The integration relies on the sheet remaining formatted the same way as the automated system created it when the integration was set up, and any deviation from that might break the data writing process. For that reason, when you want to manipulate data on an integrated spreadsheet, we recommend that you use the ImportRange function and import data to the spreadsheet where you will be making such edits.

    Thank you.
