I've searched the forum and failed to find the answer. I'm trying to set up a donation form with a recurring payment option and it seems that selecting "subscription" is the way to go. However, I don't see that option, even though the instructions on the forum seem to indicate that if you select "sell a product" it's an available choice. Please clarify.

I examined the Square integration and I could not find a recurring payments option. The available options are selling products, receiving donations and having a user defined amount.

So am I correct in understanding that the options are dependent on the gateway? Or is it how the gateway is configured in your system?

I believe this is a matter of our Square integration lacking support for what Square provides according to https://squareup.com/invoices/recurring-payments
