How to stop payment submission mandatory in payment form

Asked by JBaldwin_TSNW on January 30, 2017 at 03:26 PM

I set up a form with payment details, but did not make the payment part mandatory because our specific event does not require payment. However, when I tried to fill it out it would not let me submit. Please help.

    Thanks,

    Jamaica

I reviewed your form https://www.jotform.com/63186111938155 but I could not reproduce the issue with the payment field on the for at this time.

Please take note that since the Qty of items/products in the Payment field were default to zero(0), you still need to select a quantity beside 0 for the payment to have Total.

Can you please confirm that this was the issue you were having on the payment section of your form? If not, please provide more details about the issue and we will check further.

Thanks for responding, but that wasn’t the issue. I want an option that allows people to submit their form without payment, because some of our member don’t require the products for sale on the form, but DO want to register for the event. So I was trying to configure the form so someone can fill in their contact info and skip the payment part and hit submit.
    Is this possible?

Actually, using your form https://www.jotform.com/63186111938155 it can still be submitted without using the payment field. As long as the user will not fill in the payment field, the form can submitted because payment field was not required.

    Example:

But if my understanding of your requirement is correct, you still want the user to select or use option in payment field but should not require them to process any payment transaction upon submission of form.

How about using the Purchase Order field instead as the payment field. The Purchase Order field does not process any payment transaction but will go through selection of products as payment field.

That doesn’t work. I tried to add the Purchase Order Field, but it won’t let me have that and a payment field. Says I have to choose. However, I need people to have the option of paying and not paying.
Is it possible to speak to someone from support on the phone? This has already taken up quite a bit of time.
    Thanks,

To be able to use another Payment field on your form https://www.jotform.com/63186111938155   you must remove 1st the existing payment field on it.

Here are the steps on how it should be.

You can test my demo modified version of the form where I used Purchase Order field.

    Thanks.

That was my point. I’m looking for a way to allow some people (who need the products) to fill in their cc info and pay in the payment field and others (who don’t need the products) to simply enter their contact info and other details and submit the form without paying anything.
Can I possibly speak to someone via the phone because I don’t think what I need is understood.
    Thank you,

...way to allow some people (who need the products) to fill in their cc info and pay in the payment field

Other payment tools like Paypal, Stripe and Authorize.net have options to capture billing details without collecting actual payments. This is the Payment Authorization feature.

    User guide:  How-to-Enable-Payment-Authorization

But since you were using Square payment integration, you may want to set the payment field in Test mode instead so that no actual payment will be process even if the users uses the payment field on your form.

    Ex:
