When I fill out one of my forms I do not receive an email when clicking submit, thus I never know that the form has been filled out. Why not?

(I put in the recipient email my email address, and encrypted the form)

Are you referring to receiving an email to the address that was entered on your form when it got submitted? Or do you mean you didn't get the one sent to your email address when submitted by a user to get notice of a new submission on your form such as when you filled it out?

I checked your form and you currently have an email notification set up for it so this means you would only receive an email of a new submission to your account email address.

However, if you want to receive an email as a confirmation to the email address that you entered into the form when you tested it by submitting then you would need to setup an autoresponder.

    HI KadeJM,

Thanks for your reply! My goal is to get the email sent to my email address when submitted by a user to get notice of a new submission on the form.

I also double checked it and it seems to be set up correctly, I even re-created a new one but this does not work either. The test email always works, but still no notification when someone submits the form.

I checked your email history and it appears that the email notifications failed to send.

There seems to be an error with the SMTP causing the email to fail. Please check your SMTP credentials and make sure that there are no extra characters or spaces. You may contact your email service provider for the SMTP credentials. You can then edit the SMTP credentials here: How to Edit/Delete Sender Emails on SMTP Settings

Alternatively, you can switch the sender email to noreply@jotform.com, since you were able to receive the test email from that address.

If the issue persists, please let us know.
    Regards.

Thanks so much for the answer. I re-entered it and it was actually google blocking a "less secure app".

I had to allow it manually in the google mail preferences.

Is jotform save then to use with google if I only send the encrypted form?

Google just blocked someone from signing into your Google Account xxx from an app that may put your account at risk.

Usually, you'll get an email on your Gmail account when a sign in attempt using a 3rd party app happens. It will most likely block the app if "allow less secure apps" is enabled.

You can directly change your setting using this direct link: https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps

    Hope this helps
