Hi, I want to set up a payment option with JotForm.
I would like to ask my customer a few questions to get to a total price, and then have them choose over how many months to pay that sum, and submit it to my merchant, is that possible?

I would suggest you to first take a look on this guide that will help you to assign calculation values to your questions: https://www.jotform.com/help/301-How-to-Assign-Calculation-Value
Then you will need to calculate the total using the form calculation widget, to get more info about how to perform calculation in your form, pelase check this guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/259-How-to-Perform-Form-Calculation-Using-a-Widget
Once you have your calculation ready you can pass it to the payment field, this guide will provide you more info about it: https://www.jotform.com/help/275-How-to-Pass-a-Calculation-to-a-Payment-Field
This guide will also help you to set up a recurring payment: https://www.jotform.com/help/166-How-to-Setup-a-Recurring-Payment-Option
However, not all of the payment integrations allow to get a custom amount with subscriptions, these are the only ones that will allow you to get the total calculated in the widget:
Here's a screenshot about a subscription, in the "Get price from" section you will need to select the calculation widget:
Hope this helps.

Thank you however, Im not looking to create newspaper subscriptions, im looking to create a total owes, and let the customer choose the time frame to pay up the total.

As I can understand you want to get a total amount and allow your users a time frame to pay up this total amount.
With the payment integrations given above you can only capture the total amount and number of payments, then automatically calculate the amount to be paid based on the number of payments and pass this to the payment field, but there is not a way to change the schedule, it can be only fixed such as daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or any other schedule.
Here's how it would look on your form:
But, will not be possible to allow users to select the payment schedule.
Here's my sample form, you may take a look: https://form.jotform.com/70347830190958
