    Hi

I contacted you a couple of days ago but have not had a response.

I have had people filling in my forms with their address but then when i download the submissions the address is not on there.

Why is this and how can i get these addresses back? It was a required field so i know that they put the address in there.

Help! I need this information very urgently.

Could you please let us know which form you are referring to, so we can investigate?

    And this one - https://eu.jotform.com/makeitbritish/exhibitor-marketing-form-hall-t2

I have checked your both forms and see that the Address field is not a required field. As I check the submissions, I see that there is only one submission with the address field filled for https://eu.jotform.com/makeitbritish/exhibitor-marketing-form-hall-t2.

By any chance did you delete the address field on your form and added it again? If so, you may revert the form to the earlier version so that the previous address field can display the data captured if any. Please note that if any modifications made to the form after this change, they will be lost on the form.

    Hope this information helps!

    Thanks for your reply.

I know that these people filled their addresses in as they needed to do so in order for Stripe to accept the credit card payment.

Are you saying that what has happened is that the address field might have since changed to a 'not required' field and so this data has been lost?

    Thanks

I mean to ask if you have deleted the address field from the form after receiving some submissions. I have checked the form now and it seems that you have made the address field as required now. I have also checked the email history log and see that the email notifications are not displaying the address field.

It appears that the field was not filled while submitting the form. Could you also verify with the users who filled the form earlier?

    Thanks!

There is something very weird going on here.

I have just created a new form called 'registration' and the address field is required.

I've filled in the form, including the address, and when i look at the submissions the address is not there!

The new form is this one https://form.jotformeu.com/70394511710348

Also, the original forms DEFINITELY took peoples addresses as I have checked with a couple of them. THey had to put the address and postcode in for the Stripe payment to work.

So the system seems to be losing the addresses some how - you test the registration one and see what I mean!

    Thanks

Please could someone get back to me about this as soon as possible as I need this form to go live in a few hours time and I can't do that until this missing address issue is sorted out.

Please test this most recent one for yourself  https://form.jotformeu.com/70394511710348 and you will see that it is not saving the addresses even though address is a required field

I sent a submission to your form and I can confirm that the Address field does not appear in the submissions.

I checked the Advanced Properties of the Address field and it looks like the Unique Name was changed from the default {address} into {#input_5_addr_line1, #input_5_addr_line2, #input_5_city, #input_5_county, #input_5_postal, #input_5_country}. This is why the address is not being collected on your submissions.

Please note that in order for the form to collect the submission properly, the Unique Name needs to be correct. Please change the Unique Name back to {address} and the address should now be collected properly on the submissions. Please see the example below:

Ok. But does this mean that all addresses collected so far have been LOST FOREVER??

Is there any way of getting them back?

Unfortunately, it seems like the inputs for the address field were not saved in our servers because of the incorrect unique name that it has, so it is not possible to recover.

    I do suggest the following:

    1. Check the forms and see if the unique name is still incorrect, in your case I noticed that this form https://eu.jotform.com/makeitbritish/exhibitor-marketing-form-hall-t2 still has an invalid unique name.

I suggest that the unique name should be a single word, no special characters like "#" or "comma".

    2. If you require the address field to be filled out, I strongly suggest making it "required".

    3. I presume this form is now working: https://form.jotformeu.com/70394511710348? I see the test submissions now has the address field filled out. If that form was cloned from a form that has an invalid unique name like the others, then that will also have the same issue.

I also tested both our form builders, version 3 and version 4 but I cannot replicate the problem wherein the "unique name" will have a the same value of the field IDs. By default it will have the label as part of the unique name, if the label is empty it will generate its own valid unique name. Perhaps one of your colleagues have mistakenly changed the "unique name" and copied those values of the field IDs?

    Apologies for the inconvenience.
