Add Order Total to Custom THANK YOU page

I see how to carry Order Total on to regular Thank you page. 
(which i have for my payment with Paypal condition)

But would like to add Order Total to the custom Thank you page created with my condition if -Place Order and Mail Check option.

ps.  is there a way to get the matrix field checked boxes to show in the same Thank you page also.  So that my customer will know which items they are purchasing.... and possibly print the thank you page - if they are sending a check.

I'm afraid this is not possible with the checkboxes in the matrix field. However, alternatively you can also try the Preview Before Submit widget that allows the user to review their answer before submitting your form and also they will know which items they will purchase.
