I can't upload photos from my phone (Android). When I try to upload I get an error message that says:
(filename).jpg is empty, please select files again without it.
The form works perfectly on my desktop or laptop.
- jeanettebmzAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 08:38 PM
I would suggest you to set a smaller size for the limit. Of course, always set it in multiples of 1024
Let us know if you still need assistance
- reveriestudioAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 08:47 PM
Same problem. Same error message. I can't really go less than 10MB because I allow my customers to upload up to 6 images. I reduded the max to 5MB and it still didn't work.
- jeanettebmzAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 08:50 PM
Ok, I understand
- reveriestudioAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 09:02 PM
When I tried to imbed the iFrame code it did not work. When I add a script it has to be in the following format.
script must be in the format "<script>...</script>"
- jeanettebmzAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 09:07 PM
Put the script code back to your page and also replace the multiple upload button bye the single one. Just want to discard something I am suspicious of.
- reveriestudioAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 09:24 PM
Same error message. Still works perfectly on the desktop.

Can you tell us the browser that you're using when trying to make a submission?
If I'm not mistaken, this has the same case as the other apple based mobile browsers which could not make an upload. What you can do is download and install other browsers such as Opera Mini which supports file uploading on mobile phones.
- jeanettebmzAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 09:39 PM
You are right Lyam , I was also suspecting about the mobile browser.
Thanks for the input
- reveriestudioAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 10:04 PM
I don't think I can expect my customers to download a browser just to be able to upload photos to the website. Would it be safe to assume that JotForm does not support file uploading on the standard (preloaded) browers on Android and Apple phones?
Is it the browsers or JotForm? I can upload pictures to Instagram and Facebook with my current browser.
This will be devastating to my website.
Are there any other options as far as embedding the code?
- JotForm SupportliyamAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 11:08 PM
Can you confirm as well that you're using the same browser that you use to visit your page and not the facebook app, instagram app, or built-in image uploader from your phone's camera app for uploading files?
You may also try uploading a test file on Image shack to see if it's a JotForm issue or it's your browser.
- reveriestudioAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 11:22 PM
Good point on the app. I am using the app for both of those programs. I went to a website similar to mine www.canvasondemand.com.
Without an app I was able to upload an image to their website.
- JotForm SupportliyamAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 11:38 PM
Thank you for this clarification, reveriestudio.
I also just noticed that you're using a mutiple-files-upload setting on your form. Have you tried changing it to single-file-upload and see if you're able to upload a file properly?
- reveriestudioAnswered on June 13, 2012 at 11:44 PM
I did try that. I also tried reducing the file upload size. Neither one worked. I have tried a few other sites on my phone and I can upload as well without running an app.

Is it safe to assume that I cannot upload files on mobile devices with JotForm?
- JotForm SupportliyamAnswered on June 14, 2012 at 11:45 AM
Can you tell us the type of device that you're using? I tested my own form with a Galaxy tab, and I was able to upload and receive my submission successfully.
I will try to investigate this further and see whether I can replicate your issue.
- reveriestudioAnswered on June 14, 2012 at 07:57 PM
I am using an HTC Amaze. Were you able to upload files or just input data?
- JotForm SupportliyamAnswered on June 14, 2012 at 09:14 PM
I was able to upload an image file.
We'll continue doing some tests and do our best to find out how to replicate and resolve your problem.
Thanks for your patience.

I really appreciate your help and support.
- JotForm SupportliyamAnswered on June 15, 2012 at 09:18 AM
I just made a test submission on your form using a galaxy tab using the default browser. And this time through your website. I still can't seem to replicate your issue. Have you tried making an upload via the preview of you form on you account's form builder?
- reveriestudioAnswered on June 15, 2012 at 11:41 AM
Thank You. I got your submission. It's still not working for me.
I tried with the preview on my phone and got the same error. Apparently this is a known issue http://www.jotform.com/answers/74193-Problems-with-mobile-devices-and-Jotform
I went to a website similar to mine www.canvasondemand.com and I can upload photos. Is it possible to look at the source code to see how they are doing it? I just right click on the website and click "View Source" in IE and I can see the coding. I don"t know what to look for.
I think this is major issue for many JotForm users.
- JotForm SupportliyamAnswered on June 15, 2012 at 01:14 PM
Can you try making a test file upload using this form I cloned? http://form.jotform.me/form/21658266672462
Looking forward to your submission.

- JotForm SupportliyamAnswered on June 20, 2012 at 01:11 PM
Hello chobits6. Can you share with us the type of device that you're using? On the case on the HTC amaze device, one of my colleagues were able to upload properly using the same device. So we're figuring out whether it's a service provider issue or a device issue. May we also know if you're using the internet using your mobile phone or your home's internet service provider?
- chobits6Answered on June 21, 2012 at 02:56 AM
I will explain by two examples.
example 1 is Not mutiupload function.
it is Perfect Destop and mobile
example 2 is USE mutiupload function.
it is Perfect Destop
But moblie Can not
In fact. I also want to use mutiupload function with mobile.
please slove this problem

Thank you for the screenshots, chobits6. I have already forwarded this matter to the development team. For the meantime, please use the single-file upload option for your file uploads
Thanks for your patience.

Hi all. I have a form with single image upload, the desired function is to allow user to get to camera, take a pic and upload it. ive been testing ona galaxy tab 10.1 on honeycomb, works great. Then i test on my girlfrinds galaxy s2, which is still on android 2.3. this time no option to get to camera to take a pic, only to gallery to upload existing pic, althpugh upload does then work. Then i tested on my s2 which has been updated to android ics, and option to get to camera is there, all seems to work but when email notification comes throug there is no image. I am sure if i keep testing on various browsers i will find one that works. i thimk this is more arcitectual faults with different android coding in standard browser then anything wrong with jotforms setup...
- chobits6Answered on June 26, 2012 at 02:18 PM
Thank you letwithease.
Notifly with the post.
I want to say that there are many problems that I see.
But I am afraid that the team jotform be confused with the problem.
1.lost file with differrent browers.
2.lost file with CAPTCHA.
Now I'm waiting for that time.
Jotfrom team will be used to fix things.
Thanks in advance team jotfrom.
The urgency to solve problems.

Being able to use JotFom completely in Mobile would be the best way to go and should be tweaked asap for it! There will always be more phones that computers and phones will contine to outpace computers in sales and use. In the end, mobile is king! Would like to see JotForm coded for mobile fully! :)
