Can I pre-authorize a credit card without knowing the amount to charge?

I have integrated my form with Stripe and connected. Payment area says "this integration has not been configured. Run Wizard." What wizard? In payment settings it says to create new product. I do not have products. I sell a service. Grocery deliveries. Customer orders and submits credit card which hopefully can be pre-authorized. I then shop, and after, when I have totals, I run the credit card.

Unfortunately, there is no way to run a card in Stripe without knowing the total.

If you require payment authorization, that can be done through Stripe:

However, it would still require either setting up a custom amount to authorize or specific products.

Sorry. This I dont understand. In your above link on preauthorization it also shows a button enabling me to "charge the customer later". Could I charge the customer, say $1 up front and then when I have totals, charge the remainder? And why do I need specific products? Why can't I charge for service??

You can authorize for $1.00 but it will only allow you to charge that $1.00.  It will not allow you pre-authorize the card for one amount and then change it later to another.
