V4 Form Builder: Missing functionality to move fields using right and left arrows keys, and "Move Up" and "Move Down" options

Asked by mgcaledonian13 on February 20, 2017 at 01:25 AM

Have the "move field arrows" been removed in V4 I am sure they were there a couple of days ago?

Dragging them is a bit painful if you need to move them more than a couple of places.

The "edit", "delete" and "conditions", if there are any conditions, have moved to the left of the field as well.

Apologies for the inconvenience. I see what you mean, currently, this is how the version 4 form builder looks like:

In version 3, aside from drag and drop, we can move fields by pressing right and left arrows on the keyboard or by right clicking and choosing "Move Up" or "Move Down":

I will forward this to our developers to have it checked and fixed. For the meantime, you can switch to version 3 of JotForm to use this functionality.

OK I can live with the dragging for a while, I'll await the "repair"!

Getting to like V4 more and more so not that keen to have to switch back and forth, now there is a bit of enthusiasm for V4.

    Hey Willy,

Glad to hear that you're becoming to like our new builder, it means a lot! :)

But,  here is the deal. The new builder offers this way of operating in your forms only when you are mobile. Desktop version do not offer this feature as a design decision.

I'm forwarding this ticket as a feature request to our developers. I guess you know that we cannot give any promises regarding this feature ever will be implemented or not. But if there will be any updates, we will be informing you through this thread.

Let us know if you ever need anything else,

    Cheers!

I think they (the developers) are tweaking this. The Save button has disappeared now in properties, that does not concern me as it appears that the data is saved automatically.

The save button disappearing tells me that the "move" functions were there at one point it would be nice to have them though !!!
