Can I add help text in the grid report?

I want to provide my users tips on searching and sorting. Is there any way (including any apps or add-on's) that I can place a note on a grid report?

I am not sure if I have understood your question correctly. What kind of help text you want to add in grid report. Please note that grid report is generated dynamically based on the configuration and fields you selected while creating the report. It will only display the submission you have received in your form. It is not possible to add any additional text in report.

One possibility is to create a webpage where you can add your own text and then grab your grid report's iFrame emebd code to embed it in your own webpage. Please check the screenshot below on how to grab your grid report's iFrame embed code:
