How is the educational discount processed?

I have requested my account to be considered an education account. I have not yet purchased a subscription but will need to shortly. If I purchase the subscription without the discount, will my credit card be refunded the 50% once approved as an education member?

I have checked on our records and found that your application was not approved, you could however upgrade your account to the desired plan, if you want, you could review your previous application and try to apply again. 

Also, you could indeed purchase a subscription now if you need to increase the limits, please avoid upgrading with PayPal or FastSpring since this would make the process to switch planes a bit hard, upgrading to Stripe (credit card or the default one) will allow us to handle the switch, though would be good to wait again for the resolution of your educational discount application and upgrade directly with the discounted price.
