How to conditionally check the value of checkbox?

Asked by staffpro on February 28, 2017 at 12:54 PM
I'd like to have a check box, checked based on conditions but the options on update a field are: "copy multiple field values" "copy a fields value" and "calculate a fields value" I don't see any option to "update" a fields value?

What exactly do you want to achieve? Do you want to pass selected options from one check to another?

If so you should use "Copy a Field's value" option.

Here is a demo form: https://form.jotform.com/70585716073965

However if you want to select one specific option inside of checkbox field based on another field, such as text box field, then you should use "calculate a fields value" option and set condition like this.

Inside of Do you need to enter exact option of your check box field.

Here is my demo form: https://form.jotform.com/70586218101955

I emailed back a reply but I see it didnt reach you :-(

I would like to have the question “Are you at least 18 years old?” be checked off based on the date of birth they choose.

This is what I did so far based on your example but now I’m still stuck, what do I put in the “DO” part?

    Thanks

I assume that you are working on this form http://www.jotform.us/form/70385258877168.

I have inspected your form and you are calculating days, now years. If you want to calculate years set you calculation like this.

To select check box field based on calculation result, set your condition like this.

I have inspected your form and your calculation is not set correctly. Because of that conditions that you have set are not working.

There a space character before and after a division sign. You need to remove those space characters.

Also division and brackets signs, have to be set as numbers not as strings. Simply click on them, so that are black, not gray. Your calculation should look like this.

Also inside of your conditions you should write Yes and No, not YES and NO
