My form is blocked in China

I saw someone else noted this, but I wanted to add my experience.

I sent one of my users the link in the screen shot below. She translated it as: "This picture means the website I visit has been reported by a lot of people and so it is blocked"

I then sent her the https://www.jotform.com/62877094114157 link and she stated she still could not open the link.

I'm sorry, but I cannot view the image. I think it's not shared since it's a Google Image.

I checked it, the form seems to be accessible in China. You can find the test results in the following links:

    http://www.blockedinchina.net/?siteurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jotform.com%2F62877094114157

    http://www.blockedinchina.net/?siteurl=jotform.com

    http://viewdns.info/chinesefirewall/?domain=jotform.com

Perhaps they can just whitelist the form in order to view it? Is it blocked by the Great Wall or just their firewall?

    Hi,

I'm not going to ask a customer to jump through a bunch of hoops to use jotform. If it's not going to work in China, we might not be able to use jotform going forward. Is this something that you're working to fix?

The problem here is not with the form itself, it's with how the form is being flagged/blocked by either the user's firewall or the Great Firewall of China. My colleague was hoping you would answer this question so please respond to us.

If you could resend to us your screenshot, we can have a closer look.

Can you also ask that someone (who reported this to you), to check with all the following URLs:

    https://www.jotform.com/62877094114157

    https://jotform.com/62877094114157

    http://www.jotform.com/62877094114157

    http://jotform.com/62877094114157

    https://form.jotform.com/62877094114157

    http://form.jotform.com/62877094114157

    https://form.jotform.com/form/62877094114157

    http://form.jotform.com/form/62877094114157

Then get back to us if any or none of these URLs work.

Please don't forget the screenshot you were supposed to send to us. Don't attach it via email. Instead, open your thread by clicking this link, then post your reply, along with the image from there.

Hi, I'm not going to ask my customer to try a bunch of different links to see if they work, we used a paper application instead and as far as she's concerned the issue is resolved.  And I'm sorry, but I don't have time to keep going back and forth on this.

Here's a rough translation using Google Translate app. It says the following, and it's the second line in the error message that you sent:

My form is blocked in China Image 1 Screenshot 20

It seems to me that the form has been reported as a phishing form so that is why it's blocked and I don't think it's the Great Wall Firewall that does this. At the bottom, if the translation is correct, the user has the option to proceed by clicking the link below it. And maybe, they have the option to whitelist the form.

I'm sorry, but I'll try to investigate further. The above answers are based on the translation app. For the meantime, if you may, you may consider the following:

    1. Clone the form (https://www.jotform.com/help/27-How-to-clone-an-existing-form-from-your-account).

    2. Give the user the cloned version of the form. Just to see if indeed the whole thing is blocked.

Another round of request, we'd appreciate your time helping us on this matter.

I analyzed this form. It connects to an API that is blocked in China. The DNS servers will not allow the form to connect to the API's that it blocks. So basically JotForm itself isn't blocked, but the 3rd party API's the piggy back on are blocked. Jot Form could easily fix this by hosting their own applications independent of the 3rd parties. They just DONT. Which is why my company dumped them and I advise you do the same. Sorry JotForm, but if you had a product that didn't piggy back on blocked services then I wouldn't have left you. Take care

    @Christopher,

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. Unfortunately, the APIs are provided by the respective providers and they will be required to connect to their servers in order to process the form information and pass it to them like Google spreadsheet or Drive integrations. Since it is the form owners choice to use any integration on the form, unfortunately, we do not have any control over it. If you are experiencing any issues with your JotForm, we request you to open a new thread and please provide us with the form ID/URL so that we can investigate the issue further.

    Thanks!

    Kiran,

Are you saying that if I remove the google spreadsheet integration, the form will not be blocked?

If the form is being blocked due to the APIs only, it might help in accessing the form without any issue. As per our test results, the JotForm domain seems to be working fine in China. You may give it a try to see if that works. Let us know if that helps.

    Thank you!

It doesn't really matter because the spreadsheet integration is vital for our processes. Thanks, but no thanks, I won't be troubleshooting this issue for you.

Unfortunately, we are not having any support team member from China to test it. If we come across any information regarding this issue from any source, we shall update it for you.

    Thanks!
