I am not able to download submission PDF of encrypted form.Asked by southsoundvas on March 03, 2017 at 10:54 PM
I am running a small clinic and my form needs to be encrypted for patient privacy. There does not seem to be any functional way to make it useful for me. I ultimately need to be able to upload the document to the patient's chart documenting their agreement and signature. You can no longer download it as a PDF when encrypted, and if you copy and past it the signature disappears. The signature is also not visible in the emailed version that I can open with the jotform.key. How can I create a document from the completed and submitted form that I can use? Thank you so much.
I am not sure if I understood your question correctly. Do you mean to say that you are not able to decrypt the submission from the submission email?
Please note that when you encrypt your form and receive a submission email, if the browser is not able to access your saved key file the submission will not decrypt and will display the encrypted content. Please check the screenshot below:
If you have saved the key file correctly in the default folder where it was downloaded, you should be able to view the submission email correctly. Please check the screenshot below:
Please note that for encrypted form's, it is not possible to download submission PDF. You may like to take a look at the following guide for the limitation of encrypted forms: https://www.jotform.com/help/344-Encrypted-Forms-and-How-to-Use-Them
My encryption key works fine, with the exception of the signature line. The signature they provide using e-signature is not visible in the email, though the rest of the form data is visible. That is the first problem. The bigger problem is that it looks like the only thing that can be done with the encrypted form after it is submitted is to look at it through the jotform website. You can't actually generate any kind of document that can be uploaded into a patient chart or used in some other way. It is basically read only. Correct?
When encryption is enabled, you can only access and read the data in the form submissions page. All other functions are disabled. Yes, read only in the form submissions page.
