Prepopulating Fields to Related Jotform

    Hi there,

I need assistance successfully prepopulating fields to enable the "save" function at various page breaks of my main jotform. I have several users who will need to access the save function on multiple form submissions at the same time, so I've tried to create an initial entry form where they can enter their email to receive edit updates and also a generated userID so that the link will not depend on their email alone to save different content.

I'm just struggling now with identifying the fields in the main form to enable prepopulation of the email and userID fields. I want to prepopulate those fields to avoid confusion with my users.

Can someone help me with this request? Please see the entry form and main form below.

    Thanks!

In order to identify the fields and prepopulate them with data, here is how: https://www.jotform.com/help/71-Prepopulating-Fields-to-Your-JotForm-via-URL-Parameters

If you want to pass the data from this form "https://form.jotform.us/70745590136155" to this form "https://form.jotform.us/62084372430147", please follow this guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/351-How-to-Automatically-Pass-Form-Data-to-Another-Form

It looks like your reply did not post to this forum thread, but I found it in my inbox:

"I have already tried to do this, specifically I have tried to pass the email section from my form one to the email on form two, with no luck.

I believe I've identified the correct field names and I'm able to link my urls successfully, but there is no prepopulated content when I open the form two.

Please help me with this, getting frustrated! :(

    Form one: https://form.jotform.com/70745590136155

    Form two: https://form.jotform.com/62084372430147"

I will take a look at the URL session you have created in order to find the issue. I will get back to you as soon as I find the solution.

It looks like you forgot to include the "session" in the URL, so the correct URL is the following:

    https://form.jotform.com/62084372430147?session={email}&email272={email}

I have already updated the URL in your Autoresponder, and Thank You page, and also tested it, and it worked fine:

You can check my created session: https://form.jotform.com/62084372430147?session=davidb@jotform.com&email272=davidb@jotform.com

Let us know if you need more hep, we will be glad to assist you.

Thank you so much for your help! But

I'm still having trouble with my second request.

I have users who will be using the same email address to edit different forms at the same time. I want to create a unique ID for each submission of form one so that users can enter different sets of data in form two without submitting the entire form.

I've created a hidden "userID" field in my form one and I see the same name in my form two, but I'm not sure if I'm carrying over the correct data I want because the value for both forms seems to be just the form number, not differentiated from one entry to the next.

Can you help me with this issue? I need to A) determine if the userID I've added to form one is the right type to distinguish one entry from another (despite being sent to the same email address) and B) pass the information through from form one to form two.
