Why doesn't the product item sub-total (PayPal wizard) reset when the RESET button is selected for a form?

In the form below, if you select some items the sub-total and total tally correctly. However, if you "CLEAR FORM" (aka RESET) the form clears out the total (upper right hand side of form) but the sub-totals do not clear out to zero. A forced page reload will fix that, but the desirable and expected outcome would be a reset "in place" or for the RESET to force a reload within the standard code. HELP!

I was able to reproduced the problem when I test the form.

Please allow me some more time to check this further to identify the cause.

I'll get back to this shortly.

I am sorry I could not come up with an immediate resolution to the issue. It seems the glitch was tied to how the RESET button of the submit button work. It could not reset/clear the value in the sub-total element of the payment field.

I have now elevated this issue to the higher team support so that they can check and hopefully apply the immediate fix.

For now, the workaround I found that can work is by refreshing the browser instead to reset/clear the form content. It work the same way to the RESET button of the form.

We will notify you here once fixed.

Thanks for the reply Jonathan. Unfortunately the work around you prescribe (refreshing the browser) does not RESET the form. You must first hit the RESET button and THEN refresh the browser to clear out both the TOTAL as well as all of the product item subtotals.  Not optimal for a user to hit refresh, so this bug is not a good one to have.

It seems that it used to work or I would have noticed this problem earlier...perhaps a more recent update triggered a defect?

    Thanks...

Thanks for keeping us posted, fraanco3.

This problem you are encountering is beacuse it is due to your Continue Forms Later setting being enabled. This causes your form to keep the previous fields you have chosen on your form to stay as is even if you refresh or when you close the browser and get back to it on the next coming days. Disabling this setting will allow you to clear your choices once you have refreshed your browser.

    Thanks.

I accidentally deleted my screenshot when I submitted my response. Here is where you can change your Continue Forms later settings.

Go to your Settings > Form Settings > Continue Forms later.

Once this is disabled, it should work fine clearing your selections upon refresh of your browser.

    Thanks.

That is not correct. Changing  the continuous form setting does not fix the problem when you reset the form. And having that setting is in desirable effect  so the user can come back to the form with its contents intact .

This is a defect; the subtotal should  reset to 0.00 like the total does when the reset button is pressed.

Please note that disabling Continue Forms Later option will not reset the Sub-totals in the payment field. However, when the form is reloaded, the values stored in the browser will be cleared enabling to load the form as a new form.

The issue with clearing the sub-totals by clicking on Reset button is forwarded to our backend team for further investigation. Once the issue is fixed, we'll notify you here on this thread.

    Thanks!
