How to ensure that fields in each of two columns are aligned

Hi I have spent all day updating this form and everything is sorted now apart from the alignment of some fields in the second column of the form. I have tried everything but just cannot figure out how to rectify this problem. Please help. I have tried to upload a screen shot but the file was too big for your document picker.  There are several fields on the Second column (right hand side) that short text questions underneath one another, and they align vertically

A few custom CSS codes in the form are causing the problem in the alignment. For example, the CSS for the column layout. It moves the field to the right. 

Would you mind letting us know how you want to style the form, especially the columns? We'll help you setup the CSS correctly. For the meantime, I've fixed it and make the alignment by default. 

Thank you - yes I did play around with the CSS to try to improve alignment, but obviously made things worse. What you have done is great - I will go with that for now as I need to get this live. thanks
