Square: Ability to charge customer on a later date

    I would like an update on the Square Payments function. Does the integration now allows to safely collect the CC information and charge the customer at a later date? 

    Please be specific with your answer and avoid referring to existing documentation.

    Currently it's not possible to set up the Square integration with the payment authorization, you can find the current integrations that support this feature on the following guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/292-How-to-Enable-Payment-Authorization 

    I'm also opening a feature request for this, take into account that we cannot provide an ETA nor ensure this will be implemented, but we will let you know as soon as we receive any update about it.

    I am the engineer to whom this feature request is assigned.

    Would you be okay with having an "Authorization only" feature that will allow you to void or capture an authorized transaction through your Square dashboard?

    Or would you prefer to be able to capture the transaction through a link inside the form submission data?

    Hello and thank you for replying.

    We need to capture the credit card information with Square for later use in accordance with JotForm rules.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "link". We need our customers to be able to fill out a form and include the CC info. Here are a few of the forms we use. Look under Payment Information. 




    We need to capture the information without the extra step.

    Our forms are currently encrypted.

    By a link, our developer means if you would like to either capture or void an authorized transaction with a link displayed on your submission so you do not leave the submissions page to process the payment. 

    Our developer will also receive this reply, if there's any info needed, he will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Hi Luca,

    This is now available. Simply toggle the "Authorization Only" option under the "Additional Settings" section of the Square setup screen.


    Each submission will then have a "Capture Payment" link that you can use to capture payment any time you prefer.
