    Dear David,

Please note that form encryption uses JavaScript library which encrypts the values of form fields before the data is actually submitted to JotForm Servers. To decrypt the submission data you need to upload your private key on the form submissions page.

Encrypted Forms feature in the form preferences is a client side encryption. It encrypts the form data (basically it changes the form value into a non-human readable form) on the client side before sending it to the server. This is different from SSL encryption. So if you're referring to the SSL encryption, it is 256 bit high-grade SSL encryption.

    I hope this information helps.

    Thanks.
