looking to possibly open up jotform for my business, I know under pricing it gives a brief description for the free starter kit, could you give me more information as far as how I stay under the "free" kit?

Sure. With Free plan these are the limitations:
And this is short description:
- 100 Submissions - Means that you have 100 submissions total per month. So your users can submit the form 100 times total in one month period. From which 10 can be payment submissions.
- 100 MB Available space - Means that your users can upload 100mb of various files total. This limit is not timed based it is total for a Free plan, but if you remove some of the uploaded files you can free up space.
- 5 Forms - Means you can create 5 forms total for a Free plan, but you can remove and create another form anytime.
- 1000 monthly form views - Means that your users can view your forms 1000 times per month total, for all forms. This includes if you view the form as well.
- 500 Total submissions Storage - You can have 500 submissions stored total under a Free plan. This is a limit for a Free plan and you can free that space up by removing some of the submissions. You can also purchase a Storage plan (which is 5$ per month) and store as many as you want.
Hope this helps.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
Thank you!

If you are near any of account limits, email will be sent to email address of your account notifying you about it, so that you can upgrade your account. Also when you go over the limit, email will be sent to your as well. At this point you will have another day to upgrade your account. If you do not upgrade your account, it will go over limit and your forms will be disabled. Account can go overlimit because submissions, form views and upload storage space.
Submissions and Form views are reset at first day of each month. If you go over this limit your form will be activated when submission counter is reset.
Upload space for free accounts is 100 MB and if you go over this limit, you will have to delete submissions to clear the space and to activate your account.
More about account usage and limits you can find inside of this guide:
Understanding Your Account Usage/Limits
Hope this will help.
