Increase the number of options that can be added to the Dynamic Dropdown Widget.

My list is 250,000 lines of data per each level and there are four levels. Can you please 1) increase the character limit or 2) alternatively suggest a solution to resolve. My project is currently on hold because of this.

    Thanks in advance.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you are being constrained by the character limit in Dynamic Dropdown Widget, alternatively, could you please try using the regular Dropdown field instead and see if this help to solve the issue? Then, use a conditional logic on your form to make it function just like the Dynamic Dropdown Widget.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Wouldn't you have to enter the conditional formatting for each line of data?

It would depend on how you're trying to use it but, in most cases yes you may need to set up additional conditions to format it the way you need it to work.

What exactly are you trying to do with this anyway that is needing that many characters? Is it a preexisting list or user-generated if you don't mind me asking?

Perhaps if we could understand your project more then we might be able to help better.

Something else you might be interested in is our Autocomplete Widget which is also searchable.

Thanks for responding. The autocomplete widget will not be able to assist on its own for the project. Yes I have a pre-existing specific list of items with sub categories for each for line, for instance:

    Product

      TOY

        Product Code 123

           Red

           Blue

        Product Code 456

           Green

           Orange

        Product Code 789

     DRESS,

        Product Code 321

           Red

           Blue

        Product Code 543

           Green

           Orange

        Product Code 876

Thank you for the details about that, makes a bit more sense now.

My apologies, I agree the Autocomplete wouldn't be suitable in that case.

So that leaves the manual dropdown (tedious), the dynamic dropdown (your list is too large for it as you pointed out) so have you tried the Grouped Values Dropdown yet? It has the same formatting.

I'll check with our Widget Team to see what the limit for the Dynamic Dropdown is set at. Perhaps it may be a considerable improvement to work in situations such as yours.

    Thanks for responding.

So I assumed that this Grouped Values Dropdown widget did not have the same constraints as the Dynamic Dropdown but I just tried it with 40,000 entries and it did not work.

Since the above suggestions are not suited to your requirements. I will escalate this as a feature request to our backend team. However, we can't give you an exact timeframe for when this will be implemented. Rest assure you will be informed here if there are any updates.

    Regards.

Hi Rebecca, I just wanted to follow up your thread here and let you know that I've spoken with our Widget Team Manager. I was told and I quote, "It should be around 20,000 words, It can certainly support more, but we'd be sacrificing on performance."

This means as an alternative for the time being in order to make the widget function better for your particular needs it is currently possible but, you would need to heavily break down your data sets into manageable chunks to support all of it.

However, we've still sent this thread as a request to our developers on your behalf but, please note it is only in 'consideration' and not likely to be added unless our developers are able to find a way to optimize it a lot more and we would certainly notify you here if and when that happens.

    Hi there,

Is there any update on getting a workaround to the character limitation? My project is still on hold so I may need to consider another solution if I cannot have this resolved. Please let me know.

    Thanks,
