Can I have a field look into a pre-existing table (excel, database etc) for field validation?

The first question on a form is always who the person is filling it in.  We'd like to have this validated against the HR database so they can select who they are.  Alternatively, the form "could" know who you are based on the windows login and/or look up into LDAP directory or something like this.

This product meets every need so far except this and this is key to having a smart form and satisfied customers who are tired of telling us who they are when they are already identified.

    Thank you.

I'm afraid what you are requesting is not possible with what we currently have.

With that said, you can opt for the form source code and alter it to suit your particular need. We have a guide on how to get the full source code of your form here: https://www.jotform.com/help/104-How-to-get-the-Full-Source-Code-of-your-Form

Please also note that it is possible to prepopulate form fields via URL parameters, just in case that would fit in the custom solution that you would opt for. We have a guide on that here: https://www.jotform.com/help/71-Prepopulating-Fields-to-Your-JotForm-via-URL-Parameters

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance please let us know. Thank you.
