    Hi

Every once in a while when a customer uses the upload in my form, we get the notification but when click on the attachment we get a 404 error from jotform?

    We're sorry for the inconvenience.

That problem can occur if the user didn't upload the file completely or if the upload was interrupted so it was only partly uploaded.

A solution for this could be to enable Multiupload option:

So your users can see the actual progress of the upload and see when the file is uploaded.

If you have any further questions please let us know.

    Thank you!

Can you give us an idea how often this is happening on your form?

On the contrary, I would recommend to making use of a single file upload field rather than the multiple upload field. The file transfer becomes unstable if the there are multiple files being uploaded. Especially when all files were submitted at the same time.

    Thanks.

It happens more often than we like it to!!

    As in right now..

Why do you have the "Multiple Upload" option if it does not work 50% of the time?

    This very frustrating!

    Thanks for your response, Edesignplans.

The multiple file upload works fine as how it should. However the reliability of this would fall down based on the user's internet connection. Uploading more files all at the same time consumes bandwidth between the uploader and the form. The stream between the files being uploaded are actually not running simultaneously (although it gives that impression). Meaning, the chunks of files being uploaded switches its stream from one file to another per millisecond.

On a more visual concept, you can imagine a file being disassembled into chunks while it being beamed to JotForm's servers. But due to intermittent connection, it would somehow fail to transfer. Sometimes it would prematurely complete resulting to a corrupted file.

In any case, it would be great if you can tell us which link to the files these things have happened, and on which submission. This way we make further investigation on the event.

Thanks for your understanding and again, we apologize for this inconvenience.
