Please see my "...Time and Gifts Survey- Main Form" as an example...  I am trying to set up conditions for my #8 Music... checkbox question, so that if 816. Artist is chosen then the first text box right below it will show. However, the Conditions Wizard won't allow me to choose anything other than the first checkbox option - 801. Drama...  What am I missing?  Also, once I get this working, if more than just 816. is chosen as an option by the respondent will the SHOW...field conditions logic still work or do I have to set this up differently?  Thanks!

    Hi,

I checked your form, and the checkbox condition selector for the #8 checkboxes 'equals to' allows selecting from 801-818 just fine.

But it seems the condition rule becomes broken in part to Show/Hide the textbox field because of the blank labels use (i.e list art, list instrument). If the labels are blank, the condition can only see '...' dots as options which breaks it.

I cloned your form and correct one condition, the 816 and put an actual label on the textbox below it.

This is how it looks in the form...

    When 816 is selected..

Please try reviewing the fields and correct the necessary labels.. then, create the conditions again.

Inform us if you have further inquiry or in need of more assitance.

    Thanks.

I still can't do it. When I try to choose 816. Artist from the Dropdown box in the Conditions Wizard, I can see it and click on it, but it doesn't "stick." That selection always just stays at 801. Drama Coordinator. ???

However... I just tried it on my laptop instead and there it worked. Why will this not work on one computer but it will on the other? I even rebooted my desktop and tried again and still no luck.

Thanks for the info about needing labels for the text fields, I have made that change. Another issue however... as I was doing more conditions setup on my laptop I could not get conditions to work with the next textbox "List Instrument". I've tried taking out the #816 Artist conditions and then putting in conditions on both #817 and #818 both individually and together, and it looks like it all sets up OK, but when I preview the form and checkbox either of those choices, the text field does not come up.

    Hi,

Does the desktop and laptop have different OS setup? Can you share to us which OS the 2 hardware have. Let start investigating from this first...

    Will await your updates.

    Thanks.

I have tried it on 2 other computer/browser combinations since my last post. Actually the main issue that's holding me up right now is the conditions not working for the #817 & #818 fields, even though I was able to set them up fine.  This is not working no matter what computer I use & preview the form on. Is there something I'm doing wrong on that one?

And the setting up of a condition for "816. Artist" is still a problem, too, on some of the computers.

    Here are all the specifics:

Laptop. The "Choosing #816" always works on my laptop, and I've tried it on both Chrome and IE. The Laptop's specs:  Browsers: Chrome 20.0.1132.47 m and IE 8.0.7600.16385. OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

Desktop: "Choosing #816" does not work. Browser: IE 9.08112  OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

3rd computer: "Choosing #816" does not work. Browser: IE 9.08112 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

Thanks for whatever help you can provide!

    Hi,

I checked again your form... Please check this form (clone of yours).

I setup the condition for #8 for 816,817, and 818. Please try on your end and verify if the condition is working, as it work just fine on my end.

I found an issue with field labels used (coincidence..:-) ), try not to use the character '&'(ampersand) speciially if there will be conditions..

And the setting up of a condition for "816. Artist" is still a problem, too, on some of the computers.

Can you verify if you are using 64-bit OS where this issue happen.

Please inform me if problem persists on conditions after updating the labels as suggested.

    Thanks.

All computers I've tried this on have a 64-bit OS. All IE versions I've tried this on are 32-bit (just in case that is of any consequence.)

Thanks for the tip on getting rid of the ampersands.  I'll try it in the morning and let you know!

All computers I've tried this on have a 64-bit OS. All IE versions I've tried this on are 32-bit (just in case that is of any consequence.)

Thanks for confirming. I am not sure yet, but it seems I am getting a pattern of similar issue on combination of 64-bit OS and 32-bit IE or FF versions.

I am trying to setup a 64-bit OS on my end (sorry, still on 32-bit) to see if I can reproduce the issue on my end.

For the meantime, can you also try it on other browser? i.e. FF or Chrome. Try to confirm if the issue on the form builder in setting the 816 condition also happens.

I'll gladly wait on the result on your end of the working form condition.

    Thanks a lot.

I do not have a problem when I try it in Chrome or in IE on my laptop, and I'm pretty sure I'm using the 32-bit version of IE on there, whereas my OS is 64-bit.

The one thing that's different on the other two computers that I've tried, and on which I have experienced this problem, is the version of IE I'm running. Those two computers have a newer version (see earlier msg for specifics.)

And on the other different issue, now that I have gotten rid of the ampersands, the conditions are working correctly. Thank you!
